| TITLE : SALE OF GOODS, HIRE PURCHASE & MONEY LENDING IN MALAYSIA. |
Though the three topics treated in this book are apparently quite distinct, each having own separate law and practice, (and the author has also treated them in separate Parts A, B ane they have in fact a strong unifying element. This is the element of consumer protection which be most readlly seen in the Hire Purchase Act, the Trade Descriptions Act, and the Moneylenc Ordinance. The Sale of Coods Ordinance though having the primary function of regulating trC actions between businessmen, is also not without its consumer protection element. The author tried to stress this element but he has also attempted to strike a balance (especially in Mon lending) between the rights of the consumer and those of the supplier.
This being the first work of this nature on these topic areas, there are bound to be errors < the author wiII be grateful if readers noticing them will communicate them to the author.
