| TITLE : MAINTENANCE HANDBOOK FOR HOTELS, MOTELS, AND RESORTS. |
Maintenance of a hotel, motel, or resort requires a familiarity with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electricity, plumbing, paint, fire safety, food and beverage equipment, pest control, laundries, elevators, roofs , parking and roadways, landscaping, tools and equipment, pools, lakes, and golf courses. Operators or owners cannot be expert in all these aspects of maintenance, but they must have some knowledge of each. They must know at what point a specialist is required and how to discuss maintenance problems with them.
The information included in this book is useful for professionals with a limited background in maintenance as well as for those with previous experience. Each chapter in the book focuses on different systems or facilities in hotels, motels, or resorts that must become part of a successful maintenance program. Because of length limitations the book cannot go into each of the multitude of alternatives for successful maintenance of specific systems or facilities, but it does provide an overview of critical components, procedurcs and checklists for successful maintenance.
Although maintenance inevitably is influenced by a variety of local circumstances, the information provided in this book can help make maintenance more controllable and thus less costly for hotels, motels, and resorts.
